GCSE - BTEC - A Level 2024

Public examinations can be a very stressful experience for students and parents. To provide support during this period please read through the information contained in the documents below. These detail the full GCE and GCSE examination timetable and the procedures that must be followed to ensure that the examination period runs smoothly.

Exams Contingency Days for Summer 2024 public examinations
The Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) have stated that all students must be available on 6, 13 and 26 June 2024 in case examinations need to be rearranged due to a local or national emergency. This means that even though the exam board timetables may show that a student completes their examinations in mid-June, they must keep these days free until they have taken their last examination.

Wednesday 26 June is the last date that any examination can take place on, should it have to be moved from its original time / date. The JCQ states: “The designation of a ‘contingency day’ within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or local disruption to examinations. It is part of the awarding bodies’ contingency planning for examinations”.
