We use the Accelerated Reader programme to encourage Year 7 students to read and measure their reading progress throughout the year: https://global-zone61.renaissance-go.com/welcomeportal/2121125

Students have a timetabled Library session every two weeks where they can read and challenge themselves to Accelerated Reader’s book quizzes. They also have allocated time to read for 20 minutes on most days.

It is recommended that students read for 45 minutes per day, and we would encourage reading at home to support their progress. The link to AR Bookfinder may be used by students and parents to identify if a book is on the Accelerated Reader programme and what level the book is. A selection of books at each level are illustrated below:

Green level (3.0-3.9)

Orange Level (4.0 -4.9)

Red Level (5.0-5.9)
