Computer Science

The increasing prevalence of technology in our day to day lives has led to rapid developments in society and a near complete reliance on computers and computing themes for all. In an ever-digital world, where technology is continually evolving, bringing with it significant life improvements as well as a variety of ethical and moral issues, our students need to be increasingly resilient learners. Computing themes permeate all subject disciplines and the skills necessary for success in the subject underpin success in every curriculum area as well.  The study of Computing will challenge students from all backgrounds to think creatively and critically, promoting the ability to process and assimilate large quantities of information whilst developing digital literacy.  At all times, there will be a focus on the safe, responsible and appropriate use of technology so that students can make informed choices when presented with the evolving challenges from modern life.

Technology never stands still and so it is vital that our students learn how to become independent learners so that they can continue to adapt to new challenges. Above all else, the ultimate goal is to equip our students with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to be designers of the next phase of technological advancement.
