Author visits to the library
We were fortunate enough to host two author visits this week; one from Siobhan Curham and another from Nat Luurtsema.
On Friday 1st July Siobhan Curham spoke to Year 7 about her book 'Moonlight Dreamers'. The book concerns the importance of dreaming and aiming for a dream. It is a story about friendship and finding a place in the world and our students were very inspired by Siobhan.
We also hosted Nat Luurtsema who spoke to the school Book Club as well as some Year 7 tutor groups regarding her book 'Girl out of water'. She spoke of the need for determination and resilience, and how her character Lou Brown found something new to excel in when she was thwarted in her Olympic swimming dream. Her writing is both funny and touching and our students were very engaged by Nat's discussions.
